The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating an incident involving members of the Codiac RCMP and a male youth in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Preliminary information suggests:
- On the morning of September 17, 2026, members of the Codiac RCMP were responding to a weapons call in the St. George Street area of Moncton.
- A male youth in possession of a firearm was located. The male shot in the direction of officers. Officers responded with lethal and nonlethal weapons.
- The male was then arrested after a short foot pursuit and brought to hospital by paramedics for further assessment.
