NOTE: This is an update to a news release issued yesterday, September 17 around 3:30 p.m. regarding an incident involving a male youth SiRT Investigating Incident involving RCMP  | Serious Incident Response Team .

As reported yesterday, September 17, 2026, the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating an incident involving members of the Codiac RCMP and a male youth that occurred in the area of Saint George Street in Moncton.

To aid in this investigation, SiRT is now looking for individuals who may have witnessed the incident between 7:45a.m. and 8:15 a.m. within the block of Saint George Street, Park Street, Victoria Street, Lutz Street and Archibald Street. Anyone who may have such footage or witnessed the incident are asked to email SiRT at [email protected] .

SiRT is responsible for investigating all matters that involve death, serious injury, sexual assault and intimate partner violence or other matters of a public interest to be investigated that may have arisen from the actions of any police officer, on or off duty, in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick
