The Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating a member of the RCMP’s actions while responding to call in Carlingford, New Brunswick.
Preliminary information suggests:
- On the night of October 3, 2025, several members of the Perth-Andover RCMP responded to a disturbance at a residence in Carlingford.
- While inside the residence a struggle ensued between one of the officers and an adult male.
- The officer deployed his conductive energy weapon (CEW/Taser) twice which struck the male.
- The male did not sustain a serious injury. However, the RCMP received a public complaint, and upon their review of the interaction had some concerns about the level of force the officer used.
