The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating a police involved shooting that resulted in the death of an adult male in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
– On the afternoon of September 27, 2025, RCMP attended a report of a bank robbery on Mountain Road in Moncton. An adult male fled, stole a vehicle, and entered a residence.
– Shots were fired at police by the male and it is reported a vehicle and the residence were set on fire.
– The male fled and attempted to break into another residence nearby. Police attempted to arrest the individual, an officer discharged his firearm, striking the male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
