SiRT Charges New Brunswick RCMP Officer with Assault
The Director of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) has reasonable grounds to believe that a member of RCMP in New Brunswick has committed criminal offences.
On July 15, 2025 SiRT received a referral from the RCMP regarding allegations that an RCMP officer committed domestic assault. SiRT started its investigation immediately.
On November 3, 2025, Cst. Mark Wright was charged with one count of assault pursuant to s. 266 of the Criminal Code and one count of uttering threats pursuant to s. 264.1 of the Criminal Code
On November 4, 2025, Cst. Mark Wright was charged with another count of assault pursuant to s. 266 of the Criminal Code.
Cst. Mark Wright will appear before the New Brunswick Provincial Court at 10 Peel Plaza, Saint John, New Brunswick on November 13, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. and the New Brunswick Provincial Court at 145 Assumption Blvd., Moncton, New Brunswick on November 17, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
As the matter is before the courts, and in consideration of the fair trial interests of the accused, SiRT will not provide further comment on the investigation.
