SiRT Reviewed RCMP Investigation of HRP Officer Traffic Violation

Summary
On the evening of August 28th, 2025, two members of the Lower Sackville RCMP attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians in Lower Sackville.
RCMP identified the driver of the vehicle as an off-duty Halifax Regional Police Officer. Due to the circumstances and the need for an immediate response, the RCMP initiated and completed the investigation. Pursuant to the Police Act, SiRT reviewed the RCMP’s investigation. As Director, I am satisfied the RCMP conducted a thorough and impartial investigation.
Cst. Sukhvinder Singh was issued two summary offence tickets: one for failing to yield to a pedestrian and one for careless and imprudent driving.
