SiRT Charges Member of the Grand Falls Police Force with Multiple Criminal Offences

Summary
On March 31, 2025, Grand Falls Police (GFP) contacted SiRT regarding information that suggested an active GFP member had engaged in inappropriate contact with a minor. Following an investigation, I have determined there are reasonable and probable grounds to believe that Cst. Paul Lavoie committed criminal offences.
On February 10, 2026, Cst. Paul Lavoie was charged with making sexually explicit material available to a child under the age of eighteen years; making sexually explicit material available to a child under the age of sixteen years; luring a child under the age of eighteen; luring a child under the age of sixteen; and breach of trust by a public officer. The offences are alleged to have occurred on or between February 10, 2025 and March 22, 2025.
Cst. Lavoie will appear in Edmundston Provincial Court, 121 Rue de l’Église, on April 7, 2026, at 9:30 am.
