Summary

On March 21st, 2023, SiRT was contacted by the by the RCMP, who reported a driving incident that involved one of the members of the Annapolis District. The incident is alleged to have o ccurred on August 3rd, 2022. SiRT began its investigation on March 21st, 2023, and concluded it on July 11, 2023. Information obtaine d during the investigation included, but was not limited to, a statement from the AP, a statement from a civilian witness, video evid ence and ar econstruction report. On July 11, 2023, a charge of failing to drive on the right-hand side of the road was laid ag ainst Cst. Murray John Macleod. Cst. MacLeod will app ear on August 9, 2023, at 9:30a.m., at the Kentville Provincial Court House, 87Cornwallis Street, Kentville NS. RELEVANT LEGAL ISSUE: Failing to drive on the right-hand side of the road is committed whenever a person intentionally or unintentionally oper ates their vehicle on the side of the r oadway that is designed for traffic moving in the opposite direction….
