On May 8, 2024, SiRT received a referral involving a Halifax Regional Police Officer related to incidents that took place between September 1, 2023 and October 1, 2023. I have determined that there are reasonable and probable grounds to believe that an off-duty Halifax Regional Police officer committed criminal offences relating to incidents involving a female known to him. On February 12, 2025, Detective Constable Robert Baird was charged with two counts of criminal harassment contrary to s. 264(2)(a) and (c) of the Criminal Code . Detective Constable Baird will appear before the Nova Scotia Provincial Court at 277 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth, NS, on March 25 , 2025, at 9:30 a.m….
