On November 24, 2023, the SiRT received a referral from the Halifax Regional Police regarding an incident that occurred on October 24, 2023. The AP sought medical attention on November 1, 2023. According to the medical records, the AP sustained a rib fracture. On November 23, 2023, the Affected Party (the “AP ”) filed a complaint with the Nova Scotia Police Complaints Commissioner that she was assaulted by an officer during her arrest outside of Durty Nelly’s pub (the “Pub ”) and suffered serious injuries.
